Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our team responsible for supporting the Engineering and Maintenance Department on site. In this role you will use your experience and best practice approach to support not only the tooling team but wider departments on issues or queries related to process, tools & equipment.

Responsibilities

  • General Turning, Milling, Drilling & Grinding operations
  • Assist with R&D project work
  • Work constructively with other departments within the organisation
  • Carry out repairs to damaged / worn tooling
  • Sending & receiving tooling to / from external suppliers
  • Identify and repair damaged / missing components
  • Raise & complete Work requests / Hazard reports
  • Carry out tool maintenance
  • Prioritise actions to improve Quality if necessary
  • Rectify any Quality defects, documenting what corrective action has been taken
  • Produce component and tooling drawings and use software packages
  • Assist in the training and development of Trainees / Apprentices
  • Complete documentation accurately
  • Comply with all Company procedures
  • To work within the department’s safety instruction & health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with process improvements
  • CNC experience is an advantage

Skills

  • Ambitious, time served Tool Maker (qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in Extrusion will be beneficial
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bench experience essential.
  • Hands on experience of assembly and maintenance of tooling.
  • Customer focused with good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively to tight timescales
  • Proven problem solver
  • Self-motivated and confident to act on their own initiative whilst working effectively within the organizational team
