TUBEX VENTEX and SHELTERGUARD were tested in a comparison between different methods of plant protection on installation time, costs and product features. The general economic analysis considered cost of planting, purchase, maintenance, removal, transport and labour. Product testing confirmed the already proven features of Tubex tree shelters: twin wall for robust construction and best strength to weight ratio, light transmission for optimal photosynthesis and photomorphogenesis, laser-line which splits open as the tree grows, microclimate and aeration providing constant flow of CO2 through the photosynthetic process.
