The past 5th of June, we celebrated World Environment Day at our Aberdare plant
Tubex joined World Environment Day celebration, together with all the sites of Berry Global across Europe, engaging the team to contribute towards clean air and waste reduction.
Every 5th of June since 1974 the United Nations organizes the World Environment Day. The initiative strives to raise awareness and take action on pressing environmental issues, focusing on driving a change in our behaviours to fight climate change, protect oceans and forests, and empower sustainable consumption.
This year we prepared several activities to raise awareness and engagement at our site in Aberdare. The first one was the refurbishment of the environmental area replanting trees using Tubex products; we organized a tree planting activity outside our site, every Tubex employee was given a tree sapling and was encouraged to join the tree planting.
Improving our operations to become more sustainable is one of the Tubex priorities, this year we decided to use the world environment day to communicate what are the improvements of our plant towards this goal, and to engage the team with these objectives. We prepared several environmental awareness discussions among employees, around key areas in our plant; like the recycling area.
