Tubex Combitube
Tubex Combitube tree shelters are designed specifically for more exposed planting sites where the contrast between internal and external conditions is high.
Overview
Tubex Combitube tree shelters are designed specifically for more exposed planting sites where the contrast between internal and external conditions is high. The punctured holes enhance early establishment by creating a protected microclimate at the base while allowing acclimatisation through the ventilated upper section.
Combitube provides robust protection against browsing animals, supports healthier trunk and root development, and improves drought survival, all while enabling young trees to transition gradually to ambient conditions.
Product Benefits
Produced with recycled content, and 100% recyclable at its end of life
The higher air moisture within the Tubex tree shelter reduces water stress, enabling the plant to survive in dry conditions.
Tubex Combitube Tree Shelters provide an enhanced microclimate for trees which results in better initial establishment and higher survival rates, allowing for the planting of smaller trees which are cheaper and easier to source, and ultimately lead to trees with stronger roots.
Robust twin-walled construction provides up to 10 years of service life, offering protection against small animals (such as voles, hares and rabbits), herbicide spraying, and mechanical operations.
Ventilation is provided by a number of 4mm perforations in a set of 100mm deep bands at the top of the tree shelter
All Tubex recyclable shelters are produced with up to 50% recycled content to reduce the use of virgin resources, and are fully recyclable via our Tubex Tree Shelter Collection & Recycling Programme for circularity. The most sustainable tree shelter choice proven by a recent Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) study.
