Tubex Nature is the first tree shelter to combine externally tested biodegradability in soil with scale of manufacture and proven performance.
Ideal for areas with dense woodland or limited access, Tubex Nature Shelter is the most responsible alternative where collection and recycling is not practical.
Manufactured using a bio-based blend, including sugarcane, corn and starch, Tubex Nature Shelter can be left to biodegrade in situ and will, over time, start to degrade and breakdown into water and CO2 through a microbiological process.

Protective, Responsible & Scalable
Externally tested against ISO 17556 to demonstrate soil biodegradability. Tubex Nature Shelter will biodegrade in situ, but this process can be accelerated by mulching and burying used shelters at their end of life, subject to waste management legislation.
With materials derived from sugarcane, corn and starch.
Externally tested against OECD 207 and 208.
Tested to perform with expected 5-year service life with a robust twin-walled construction, while providing excellent light transmission to facilitate growth.

Our sustainability strategy
At Tubex, we strongly believe in the benefits that tree shelters bring to the forestry industry and the planet. In 2019 it is estimated that tree shelters saved over 13 Million saplings that otherwise wouldn’t have survived, in the UK alone. However, we are aware that the main challenge that faces the industry is the disposal of tree shelters.
